This is particularly true of dynamic (moving coil) headphones, much less so of planar magnetic types whose impedance is usually almost constant. The main graph here shows how impedance varies with frequency for each of this headphone's capsules. The headphone is worn during this test, and the capsules tested separately. Placing the mouse cursor within the 'fitted' key box beneath the graph title changes the vertical scaling to maximise the trace size, allowing finer details to be seen more easily. Prominent ripples in the fitted trace may be associated with resonances within the headphone structure or drive unit diaphragm, in which case ridges should appear in the CSD waterfall at the same frequencies.
